Overview
The Student Capture field is a custom signature field that can be added to any section of an Apply Form that supports custom fields. It allows schools to collect a drawn signature as part of the enrolment application process — for example, to capture a student's own acknowledgement or declaration.
Note: The Student Capture field is a standalone custom field type and is separate from the Signature Routing feature.
Adding a Student Capture Field to a Form
The Student Capture field can be added as a custom field in any section of an Apply Form that supports custom fields, including the Student, Parent/Guardian, and other sections.
- Go to Apply > Forms and open the form you wish to edit, or create a new form.
- Navigate to the section of the form where you want the signature to appear.
- Click Add Custom Field and select Student Capture as the field type.
- Give the field a label (e.g. Student Signature or Student Declaration).
- Set whether the field is required or optional.
- Save your changes.
Once added, the signature field will appear in the relevant section of the form when a family fills it out.
How It Works for Families
When a family reaches the section of the form, the Student Capture field is displayed as a signature pad. The person completing the form — or the student themselves — can draw their signature directly on screen using a mouse, trackpad, or touch screen.
The signature is captured and saved with the form submission. If the field is set as required, the form cannot be submitted until a signature has been entered.
Viewing Captured Signatures in Enquiry Tracker
Once a form has been submitted, the student's captured signature can be viewed by school users when previewing the application under Form Entries> Apply Forms.
The signature is displayed within the Student section of the form preview, alongside the other student details collected on the form.
