Custom Fields
School Admins can now create a variety of custom fields for any forms in the Apply module. A custom field can be added in each Stepper, such as Student, Conditions etc. and to the bottom of any section, such as Student Details or Medical Conditions.
Type of Fields
Types of fields that can be added are:
- Display only
- Short answer
- Paragraph
- Date
- Dropdown (single choice)
- Radio button (single choice)
- Dropdown (multiple choice)
- Checkboxes (multiple choice)
- Signature Capture
Creating a Custom Field
To create a custom field on a form:
- Go to Admin > Forms and locate the desired form to add a custom field on
- Click the form name or the green pencil to edit the form
- On the right hand side click the Manage Fields button and a panel will open up displaying the different Steppers, Sections and fields
- Locate the Stepper and Section you wish to add a new field and expand it out i.e. click the triangle to see all the fields in the section
- At the bottom you will notice a Custom button
- Click the button and a dialog will be displayed allowing you to create any one of the fields listed above
- Enter in the desired information

Field Label: This is the name of the field.
Note: You must have a Field Label if you want this data to be included in a CSV export, as it is the only way of knowing which field the answer entered belongs. - Description: The help text that is located above or below the data entry option
- Type: This is a predefined drop down list of available field types listed above

Default value: Default values can only be set for the following field types
- Short Answer
- Paragraph
- Dropdown (single choice)
- Radio button (single choice)

Validation: The type of validation will vary on the selected field type, but multiple choice fields fields can support a minimum and maximum number of entries
- Mandatory: Whether the field must have a value entered or not
- Include on Form: Whether you want the field to be visible on the form or not

| Note: Any Custom field that is created will ONLY be available for that specific form. Once you make any edits to a form you must PUBLISH the form in order for any changes to take effect |
